TECHcontrol aka Darren Holmes has been making music on and off for over 10 years and it's his way to escape from everyday life. He has always loved music of all genres. Growing up in Yorkshire in the 70's and 80's he was brought up on artists such as Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dreams and the Who. He feels the 80's changed a lot for him when the beginning of electronic music started to hit the scene. Breakdance and the music surrounding it was the thing he remembers the most. Along came the 90's and his love of music just grew with the acid/rave scene along with the Brit-pop scene. But it wasn't until the end of the 90's he discovered how to make music on a computer and this fascinated him so much. Electro has been his first love ever since he first listened to Kraftwerk back in the early 80's. Then TECHcontrol first release came in 2016 on Urban Connections for the label compilation of VA “Fifth Element”, which was the beginning of a continuous collaboration with the label until today.
2020 has been good for TECHcontrol with the release of his debut EP "The Cure" on Urban Distortions and his contributions to the charity albums, Bass Agenda "Carebots" and Urban Distortions "Electro for Future"
His debut Album "Perfect Machine" represents the down time from working long and stressful hours through the 2020 Covid pandemic.
